News of the World Closes

On Thursday 7th July 2011, News International announced the closure of the News of the World.

The paper, which was founded in 1843, come under pressure following allegations that the newspaper hacked into the phones of missing schoolgirl Milly Dowler and the parents of Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman.

Sunday 10th July 2011 will be the News of the World’s last issue.
